John Behan

Since setting up the Beman Consulting Group in 1980, John has been involved in designing, leading and supporting many major restructuring and transformational change programmes for a wide range of high profile organisations. During that period he has acted as a Consultant, as an Adviser, and in an Executive capacity, depending on the needs of the situation.

The assignments have included significant turnaround situations, performance and competitive programmes, divestment and mergers. John’s contribution in these projects has ranged from high level strategic planning, right through to the critical role of helping the guiding organisations to move from the planning stage to implementation and delivery of the planned objectives. His experience ranges across both the Public and Private sectors, embracing the following:-

Transport – Airline, Rail and Bus

Services – Financial, Educational and Professional Bodies

Food – Retail, Processing and Distribution

Manufacturing – Telecoms and luxury branded goods

State – Semi-State and S.M.E. Companies

He has conducted assignments in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, U.S.A., Spain, Cyprus and U.K.

In working with client organisations, John’s experience has included Strategic Planning, Organisation Structure Change, Culture Change, Change Management, Industrial Relations, Leadership development, Team development, Talent management and Performance management programmes and their subsequent implementation. While John’s primary focus is delivering the corporate goals, he subscribes to the belief that lasting change and the sustainability of organisations is underpinned by the development of leadership, ownership, mindset and good communications. Consequently he invests significantly in the Human resource factor of organisations. Prior to setting up Beman Consulting, John spent eight years with the Industrial Training Authority and three years with the Irish Management Institute, running Leadership and Management programmes.

John possesses the full range of skills and experience required to develop strategic restructuring.

Frank McCourt

Frank has been associated with Beman Consulting for more than fifteen years. Prior to joining the Beman Consulting, Frank worked in the areas of Human Resources, Operational and General Management for many years with the General Motors Group, Sullivan Bluth and Warner Brothers in the United States. During this time he developed and implemented employee involvement and continuous improvement programmes with considerable success in Ireland, Portugal and the U.S.A.

Frank has worked at Beman as a consultant on a number of major development programmes in the private and semi-private sectors, e.g., Cahill May Roberts, CERT, Esat Telecom. Projects have ranged from providing support and advice to management, to assisting management by taking responsibility of the project. This has included, at times, discussing and negotiating changes to conditions of employment and work practices with the employees and their Trade Unions.

John McGann

John is a qualified Mechanical Engineer with 20 years experience working in the Irish Industrial Sector. A former Engineering Manager with a Division of GM, John has completed multi-national projects in the U.K., Europe and U.S.A.

John has extensive Programme and Project Management experience and knowledge of co-ordinating work with unionised personnel, skilled and unskilled.

John left industry in 1991 to provide consultancy services to the industrial and professional sectors and has been associated with Beman Consulting since then. He has assisted many companies to improve their internal and external customer service by the design, development and deployment of efficient systems to manage and streamline company processes.

John is an internationally certified auditor for Quality Systems, and has successfully achieved ISO and QS 9000 registration for client companies in Ireland and the U.S.A.

Judy Byrne

Judy Byrne is an Established HR Consultant in designing and leading Major Organisational Change/ Restructuring Programmes in the Public and Private Sector in a diverse range of organizations and has been involved at Director level in a significant number of Mergers and Acquisitions.

In addition to the more usual role of the consultant in being the facilitator/generator of new structures and processes that will work for organisations, Judy has gained excellent implementation expertise which is critical for the success of many change programs.

She places particular emphasis on the need for robust performance management and reward systems that support the organisational goals and culture, while at the same time ensuring employee engagement and acceptance of the need for change.

Judy has founding director experience in Outsourcing program review, design and implementation, and extensive experience in both downsizing to meet new economic realities, and upskilling/development strategies for high growth emerging companies.
